I looked at both the Sony M1 and the Sanyo C4(mentioned by Adverb above), and ended up choosing the Sanyo. I've had it for a twosome of weeks now and positively like it. There are downsides to the Sanyo: (1) very clayey; (2) currently not to hand in US sell (but Engadget's CES article says they'll be marketed here speedily.
